Article title page: part one

Hi guys! Upon finishing my article page for my music magazine, I realised that I was unable to fit the title of the article onto the same page. I didn't want to move anything around to be able to fit one on as I like how my article page is already set put at the moment. Therefore, my only other option is to make another double page, containing the title of my article.
The purpose of this page is to come before the double page article spread, to inform readers what the article is about.

So far I have placed a large image of my model on the left hand side of the page, and left the other side of the page with just a white background. I altered the image to make it darker and to turn almost black and white, however the colour hasn't been completely taken out of the image as there are still hints of blue in the models jacket.
To create this page I used photoshop instead of indesign, as this time I wasn't in need of the columns that indesign would automatically provide for me. I prefer using photoshop instead of indesign as in my opinion it is a lot easier to use.
I also plan to add the title of the article onto the right hand side of this page and also a short description of what the article will be about.

Article progression: part two.

Hi guys! This is my second progression post on my article page.

Since my last post, I have added three text columns on the right hand side of the page. The font is Minion Pro in the size 10. I think that this is the perfect size for a magazine article as it fills all of the columns and fills the page space fully. I chose to have the text on the right hand side of the page as the image of the model is turning towards the middle of the page, whereas if they were the other way around, the model would be turning away from the text.

I'm also still in the process of figuring out how to put a large, capital 'O' underneath the columns of text, similar to how Q magazine set out their article pages.

So far I have tried a number of things to try and get the results that I would like and none have worked, therefore I am going to keep trying and hope that I can find a way to put it beneath the text columns as I think without it, the page looks bare.

Article page progression: part one.

Hi guys! As you know, I am making a music magazine for my media coursework, and so far I have posted progression posts for both my front cover and my contents page, so it was only right that I posted some posts for my article page too.

I chose to use Adobe InDesign instead of photoshop to create this page because when I create the page, it provides me with a split page already and columns for my text, so that I can keep things in proportion.

I chose to have a large image of my model on the left hand side of the page as my style model is based on Q magazine. I thought I would have the image on the left side of the page rather than the right side due to the fact that the model is facing into the middle when it's on the left side, but if it was on the right hand side then she would be turning towards the end of the page.

In the picture itself, I thought the brick wall background behind the model added something different to the page, and would look better than if I cut the model out of the background and put her on top of a plain colour background. I also played around with the brightness and contrast on the image to ensure that it didn't look too dark, and cropped the image so that it was a medium shot.
