Contents page progression; part one.

Hi guys! Just like my front cover, I will be posting progression posts of the contents page that I am creating for my music magazine for my media project. These will show the progress that the page has made and the changes that I have decided to make to it.

Firstly, I decided to start with a white background as my colour scheme is black, white grey and red. I then added a black strip along the top of the page with the title of the page to make readers aware that this is the contents page. I also decided to add my magazine title on the top left corner of the page as that is what Q magazine do with their contents pages and that is the magazine, as well as Billboard, are my style models.

Front cover progress part five

Since my last post, I have added another story hook on the right hand side of the page as I felt that it looked bare compared to the other side. I think that now that there are story hooks on both sides of the front cover, it evens the page out and makes it look more organised.

Front cover progress part four

Since my last progression post for the front cover of my music magazine, I have added articles on the left hand side of the page. I have stuck with artists from the kind of genre of music that my magazine is based on. I also stuck with the strict colour scheme of white, grey, black and burgundy. I decided to have the artists names in burgundy as it stands out and will automatically attract the readers attention. I kept the rest of the writing black to go alongside the font of the website and the date. As well as this, I decided to have the word 'exclusive' in bold, white letters that are larger than the rest of the story hooks. This makes the word more visible than the story hooks, so that readers will firstly read that it is an exclusive article, which will entice them to buy the magazine even more.

Front cover progress part three

Since my last progression post for my front cover, I have altered the colour of the image of the model. In my last post the image was looking very orange toned, so I decided to de-saturate the image. I have also added the magazines website link down the side of the magazine, next to the barcode. This informs readers of the magazines website so that they are able to get further information on any articles that are featured in the magazine, which will make the readers want to purchase the magazine even more.

Front cover progress part two

Hi guys! This is the second part to my progression posts of my front cover, which shows a little bit more progress than the previous post.

In addition to the first part of my progression posts I firstly added the issue date underneath the title and also the 'new' sign in the top right hand corner, to indicate to customers that it is a new issue of the magazine. Next I added a barcode in the bottom right hand corner as an authentic magazine style has and I added the title of the main article featured in the magazine across the main image so that it stands out.

Front cover progress part one.

Hi guys! Whilst I'm in the progress of creating my music magazine for my media project, I thought I would post two updates of how it is progressing so far. These will be separated into two posts, so I can explain what I have done so far.

So far I have created the background colour which is a gradient of grey to white down the page which is behind my main image. My main image was edited on photoshop where I cropped out the background and edited the lighting. The title of my magazine 'UTA' is in a black-to-white gradient against a dark toned red block on the top left of the page so that it stands out.
